Ever heard about “The Land Down Under”? Probably you have. But not by this name. So what does this mean?
I hope we all have seen this large piece of land on the world map in our social science books in the southern hemisphere. Australia, remember. Australia is known as the Land Down Under due to its location in the southern hemisphere below almost all the countries.
Australia is one of the smallest continents and largest countries on Earth. It’s one of the most beautiful places to exist on this planet. Why? Because this country is home to diversity. Lying in between the Pacific and Indian oceans in the Southern Hemisphere, when you look at the world map you can find it in the lowermost right corner.
Canberra is the Capital of Australia. It is located in between the larger and other economically important centers of Sydney and Melbourne.
The mainland of Australia measures approximately 2,500 miles which are 4000 kilometers and extends from west to east. And from the Cape York Peninsula in the northeast to Wilson Promontory in the southeast, which is approximately 2,000 miles or 3,200 kilometers. The sovereign country is commonly known as the Commonwealth of Australia.
The Commonwealth of Australia comprises the mainland, the land of Tasmania, and numerous other islands making the whole. The market-based economy is high in Australia. That accounts for the high gross domestic product and per capita income.
Keeping all this aside Australia has an incredible destination for all the people on the planet. Unforgettable landscapes, unexpected dining experience, epic wildlife, stunning beaches, and a bunch of activities you can do here.

Below is the checklist for your trip to Australia.
1. Hike Cradle Mountain
Cradle Mountain summit is 12.5 kilometers. It is a seven-hour trek located in the cradle of Mountain Lake and is located in the St Clair National Park, Tasmania. The hike is a grade four summit. The main track to Cradle Mountain goes via Lake Lilla and Marion’s Lookout. There are several tracks offered.
You can choose to go from a different track and return from a different one. But before you choose any track keep in mind a few things. Keep a track of which time of the day you are choosing, weather conditions, and your fitness status. Marion Lookout and Hansons Peak will give you superb viewpoints.
A few sections are very rugged with steep slopes. Keep a beforehand idea of the whole trek. Discuss all the checkpoints, cautions, and precautions before you start the trip. Especially people suffering from symptomatic lung diseases or asymptomatic respiratory disorders.
2. Mesmerising Uluru Sunset
If you haven’t kept Uluru on your bucket list yet. Please put it inside. When you visit the sunset point you can also visit the Red Centre. Okay, I think there’s no introduction required to this iconic place. The Great Barrier Reef, the name is enough. This place is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Australia. Finding Nemo is one of the most iconic animation movies that feature the Barrier Reef. (Even if all the fishes in the movie had American accents for some inexplicable reason)
Among the thousands of coral reefs, tourists flock to the coast to dive and see the vibrant wildlife that lives in this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site.
4. Afresh your soul in the Florence Falls
A few hours away from Kakadu, the National Park in the Northern Territory with jaw-dropping wildlife and landscapes is the Litchfield National Park. This park is home to infamous magnetic termite mounds, sandstone pillars and vast waterholes, and the Florence Falls.
Florence falls is a spectacular cascade into the plunge pool. Set in the pocket of monsoon forest the falls offer a panoramic view of the gorgeous open valley. The contrast between the wet monsoon forest and the dry sandstone plateau can be clearly noticed here.
Camping is available nearby at the Florence Falls 2WD or Old 4WD campgrounds. Bookings are essential and must be made beforehand.
